What is RSS
Well RSS is “Really Simple Syndication”. It updates automatically and you will get the latest news. Almost all of the blogs, news sites have their rss feed. It is a great way to syndicate their content. The reader generally get the preview of the news. If the reader thinks the article/story is worthy then they click it and read it on the original site.
More detail on RSS is written on the wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS_(file_format) and http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_feed. The wiki article may be too overwhelming so CNET has a nice article about it here (http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-10088_7-5143656-1.html)
How to use RSS
There are a lot of ways to read RSS. I read my rss on “My Yahoo“, and igoogle. I dont use any external RSS Reader. I found this article on cnet which tells you about a lot of ways to read RSS. But I recommend you to use My Yahoo or igoogle. I change my home page between these two. I like both. This article on TechRepublic.com shows how to read RSS on igoogle.
